There are various types of water
| Type | Possible Problems |

| Tap | Dirt, sodium, fluoride, iron, copper, silicon, nitrates, lots of chlorine, viruses, bacteria, chemicals, up to 500 parts per million contamination. |
| Spring | Same as above problems with up to 400 ppm contamination |
| Mineral | Also contains contaminants plus picks up the mineral or organic matter as it passes through soil and rock, usually over 500 ppm contamination. |
| Boiled | Inorganic minerals remain with dead germs |
| Rain | Picks up bacteria, dust, smoke, mud and minerals & acid rain |
| Filtered | Bacteria and viruses remain, filter collects decaying matter. After a few days the bacteria multiplies through the filter, causing greater contamination. |
